Game update. Now with self serve ads.

I mentioned a while ago that I was working on a Flash game and I think it’s time I showed an update. As you can see from the screen shot it’s had some substantial progress since my first posting.
Rendering an image to an isometric grid

I woke up this morning and was a little inspired by Keith Peter’s post over at bit-101 showing some pretty cool isometric visualization. I decided to do my own take.
This is obviously not showing any funky patterns like Keith’s but rather sampling a 100×100 bitmap and using it’s pixel data to render the colours of the tops of each block.

Colin Moock, author of Essential Actionscript 3.0, has written a brilliant article over at Inside RIA called “The Charges Against Actionscript 3.0“. Colin does a great job of outlining some of the more outstanding issues currently effecting users when in comes to programmig in Actionscript 3.0 and offers some solutions on how we as developers can make some waves to get Adobe to act.
